# Import and export

Import customer and user data, or export filtered customer lists.

### Export

Install the CSV export V2 app before you export. You cannot export without it.

#### Export a customer list

1. Select customers in the list. To select all customers, use the arrow next to the **Name** column.
2. Click **More actions** in the customer list.
3. Choose **CSV export V2**.
4. Map the fields in the modal.

**Select all** includes every customer in the current filter. **Select page** includes only customers visible on the page.

The export file is saved in **Settings** > **Files**.

#### Export customers matching several conditions

Create a list with the required filters, then export that list. For example, you can filter for customers with no SMS, green health, and no churn.

#### Export not working

If the export option is missing, the export app does not have permission in your account. Startdeliver must enable it.

Exports over 100,000 records can be slow or fail. Contact support if your export does not work.

### Import

#### Import a file

1. Drag the file onto the screen. Alternatively, go to **Settings** > **Files** > **Upload files**, then choose **File import application**. The button is in the upper-right corner.
2. Choose the file type.
3. Link the import to a customer or user entity.
4. Map the fields.

Your file's column names do not need to match Startdeliver field names.

#### Import not working

Link the import to a customer or user entity before you map fields. Otherwise, you receive an unclear error message.

A CSV import overwrites existing values with empty cells. An XLSX import does not.

Remove dots from column names. A dot in a column name causes the import to fail.
